Big Largemouth Bass

The big largemouth bass have gone deep. The small 1-2 pounders are up in shallow water. Crankbaits at 15-20 feet will certainly work well this time of year in northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin. So when selecting a crankbait make sure that it will get to the depth you need. This may also require a longer rod and braided line so that the lure can get down into the strike-zone. This time of year a Rapala #20 in gray shad and white w/orange belly and black back is an ideal bait.
