Back To Basic – Bass Fishing Techniques
Getting bass to bite on highly pressured lakes is not impossible. They have to eat so that means they can be caught. It requires some bass fishing techniques that are basic but you need to remember a few of these:
Use different lures. Try something that no one else is using. Bass are not the only ones who get into habits and patterns. Selecting the best bass fishing lure for the situation means trying new presentations and retrieval methods and will lead to success.
Regularly change your lures, if you are using soft plastics try a crankbait; if a spinner is not working try a stickbait. Frequently, I have found this will entice a strike.
Also bass fishing lines, rods and reels come in many types. By using different tackle, it can make a subtle enough of a difference to turn lethargic fish on to bite.
Also having the right accessories can be important, for example the right fishing sunglasses not only cut the glare and protect your eyes; having a good pair of polarized lenses will help you see fish. This allows you to adapt your retrieval, which can provoke a bass to strike.
These tips might seem obvious, but like a classic old lure from 20 years ago, they can still be effective today, because it might be something the fish haven’t tried in a long time.
