We want to highlight some of the great guides and charter boat captains you may have encountered. I admire these entrepreneurs who most face increasing scrutiny and regulations just to do something they love. The federal requirements and licensing are amazing to me. Just about any body of water in the United States is considered a “waterway of the U.S.” so the Coast Guard, Army Corps of Engineers, Department of Transportation, etc, etc. are constantly making a simple business much more difficult.
Not that I want unsafe guides out there but those are the exception, most just love to fish and share their expertise with others. So if you have a recommendation of a great guide or captain please share it with our readers.
